Feb 2022 Promoting Psychology.
Supporting Psychologists.
Executive Greeting
Well, 2022 is certainly underway. Reports tell us many of our members are remarkably busy, and schedules are pushing capacity. Even though this workload can be stressful, it also demonstrates how valuable our profession is to our patients and clients. This is a professional reward we can take from knowing our skills are needed and recognized. We do hope everyone is practicing good self-care during these busy times.
Thank you to all of you for renewing your annual membership with IPA. We are pleased to have you with us. Please invite your colleagues to also join IPA. Make them aware of the unique and personal value of IPA membership, along with the resources available. Advise them IPA is the only coordinated and active representative for the Psychology profession in Indiana.
One of the meaningful supports provided by your IPA are the committees who do the work on our behalf. These volunteer positions are frequently unknown and are mostly unrecognized. To help recognize these committees and their members, we plan over the coming months to discuss their activities and projects.
In addition to our elected positions, IPA also has active committees for: • Continuing Education – ensuring quality professional education is available • Diversity – identifying opportunities to expand support for equity and inclusion • Ethics Consultation – a unique confidential advisory service for IPA members • Fall Conference – providing meaningful education specific to IPA members • Finance – consistently monitoring the resources and expenditures for us • Government Affairs – representing us at the legislature and state administration • Science & Education – faculty from psychology programs throughout the state • Students – bringing professional exposure to those entering the profession • Foundation and PAC – other organizations representing IPA membership
We will continue to detail these Committee efforts and identify their activities.
Please review our following NEWSletter articles and announcements for upcoming CE programs and save the date on your calendar for the Ethics Conference.
We wish you all the best.
