President's Corner
As we approach the end of Summer, IPA is busy planning the annual Fall Conference, which will be held on Friday, November 8th at IUPUI in downtown Indianapolis. This year the conference will be only a one day event, which is a departure from our traditional conference planning. This is an experiment for 2019, given historically lower attendance on the second day of the conference. As a result of this shift, the Fall Conference and Continuing Education committees have a quality program planned with an opportunity to attend 5 different continuing education workshops. Consider attending as Indiana psychologist’s licensure renewal is due August 31, 2020. Please click on this link to take a look at the conference line-up and to register. As a reminder, for those of you who opted for a Platinum membership this year, your Fall Conference registration fees are waived with Premier members receiving 20% off conference registration!
Other conference highlights include keynote address from Indiana’s own Dr. Sharon Bowman. The student poster presentations will be a part of the conference programing, and we look forward to seeing with the submissions received – there still time to submit an abstract. Please contact Dr. Elizabeth Akey to formally submit your abstract. The day will conclude with a social hour from 5:45 to 7 PM, so please make plans to stay and connect with colleagues you haven’t seen all year as well as meet new ones!
While attending the conference, if you are interested in becoming more involved with IPA but are not quite sure how you might fit, please feel free to approach me; our executive director, Dick Rhoad; or any of the other Board or committee members, and we would be happy to talk with you about what opportunities are available to you. We look forward to seeing all of you there!
Sincerely,
Maria P. Hanzlik, PsyD, HSPP IPA President Find a Psychologist

Internship in Clinical Psychology at Easterseals Rehabilitation Center – Brief Update
From Dr. Jim Schroeder, Vice President of the Department of Psychology & Wellness
I want to provide a brief update regarding our psychology internship at Easterseals Rehabilitation Center in Evansville, Indiana. As of September 1st, we are currently participating in the 2020 Match as an APPIC non-member. The program’s match code number is 251211. Applications are due by November 1st. Further information is available on our website link. We have submitted our application for APPIC membership, and are awaiting decisions; as part of this process, we have completed our preliminary review for APPIC membership and are awaiting the full board review. We have submitted our APA self-study and have been approved for a site visit. However, no guarantee is made that accreditation or membership will be granted. But we are continuing to work towards the goal of becoming a premiere internship training site for child clinical and developmental psychology.
