Child Mental Health Issues: A Model of Combined Treatment Methods
The session offers a guide to combined and integrated treatment of childhood disorders including ADHD, OCD, ASD and conduct issues. A growing body of evidence from neuroscience and cognitive psychology will be highlighted. A practitioner’s guide to best practices for conceptualizing and implementing treatment will include psychosocial and psychopharmacological options.

Learning Objectives
By completing this program, participants will able to:
1.    Identify key symptoms of childhood disorders using DSM-V criteria.
2.    Compare and contrast evidence-based psychosocial and psychopharmacological treatment options for youth with mental health issues within a family, cultural and social context.
3.    Develop a practitioner's guide to selecting the focus of treatment and treatment options for children with mental health issues and their families.


Presenter: Sandra Burkhardt, Ph.D, ABPP

Sandra Burkhardt, Ph.D., ABPP is a clinical psychologist who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of Autism Spectrum Disorder. She is Board Certified in Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology and a Fellow of the Academy of Clinical Psychology. She is Professor Emerita of St. Xavier University in Chicago.
