The Mindset of Suicide: Implications for Earlier Detection and Prevention
Presented by Natalie C. Dattilo, PhD, HSPP - Priority Wellness Group, LLC

Suicide is a major psychiatric and societal problem, with no clear etiology and no clear solution. Unfortunately, it seems the problem may be getting worse, particularly in young adolescents and older white males. This presentation aims to present a trans-theoretical model of suicide, specifically examining the mindset of an individual at risk for lethal self-injury, provide appropriately stage-matched intervention strategies, and case examples for discussion and application.

By attending this webinar, participants will be able to:
1. Recognize and describe the mindset of suicide.
2. Identify and label the “stages of change” as they apply to suicidal behavior.
3. Apply specific intervention strategies with patients/clients identified as “at-risk” for lethal self-injury.

This intermediate presentation has a target audience of clinicians, residents, students, and interns.
