The Trust’s workshops and webinars are appropriate primarily for psychologists and psychology students, but may also be useful to other related behavioral health practitioners.
 
WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION:
Technology is advancing at a dizzying pace and is becoming increasingly central to the provision of psychological services. From portable devices to digital records to interjurisdictional practice to mental health apps, technology has brought remarkable benefits to our work; and at the same time created an increasingly complex set of ethical, legal, and regulatory challenges. In this rapidly evolving environment, the need to maintain an active risk management strategy is perhaps even more central than ever.
 
This workshop is a next-generation discussion of digital world issues. After a brief introduction describing The Trust Risk Management Philosophy and Strategy, this workshop will provide a review and update on the ethical, legal, and risk management dimensions of technology. We will focus broadly on these issues related to digital record keeping, telepsychology, digital communications, and social media. The workshop is applicable to all sites where health services are provided.

PRESENTER:
Amanda D. Zelechoski, J.D., Ph.D., ABPP
 
Amanda D. Zelechoski is a licensed clinical and forensic psychologist and attorney. Dr. Zelechoski received her B.A. from the University of Notre Dame, her M.S. and Ph.D. from Drexel University, and her J.D. from Villanova University School of Law. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship at The Trauma Center at Justice Resource Institute (Brookline, MA) and is board certified in Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology. She has worked clinically with adults, children, and families in inpatient, outpatient, and forensic settings.
 
Dr. Zelechoski is currently an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Valparaiso University, where she also serves as coordinator of the Dual Degree Graduate Programs in Law and Psychology. She teaches a wide variety of courses, including ethics and professional development in psychology, and provides clinical supervision to graduate students. Her primary research interests include forensic and mental health assessment, at-risk, delinquent, and traumatized youth, child custody and child welfare, and the intersection of psychology, law, and public policy. She also conducts research related to best practices in teaching and training in the areas of psychology, law, and trauma. In addition to her teaching and research interests, Dr. Zelechoski conducts forensic and psychological evaluations and has provided training and consultation to numerous mental health, law enforcement, and correctional agencies.

Eligibility for Insurance Premium Discounts (per The Trust):
Workshop completion earns 6 CE credits and eligibility to receive a 15% premium discount on your Trust Sponsored Professional Liability Insurance for your next 2 consecutive policy periods. To obtain CE discounts, submit CE certification from an organization approved by APA to offer CE credit (must have been completed within the previous 15 months) with the insurance application. Discounts cannot be combined and are not applicable to Researcher/Academician or Student policies. Group policies become eligible for the CE discount when at least 50% of those insured under the group policy submit CE certification. All applications are individually underwritten and submission of CE certification will not guarantee insurance policy issuance or renewal.

We urge any registrant who must cancel to notify the IPA office at 317-257-7449 or info@indianapsychology.org as soon as possible so those on the waitlist may register.
 
IPA will provide refunds for registration cancellations made at least 10 days before the event minus a $25 cancellation fee.  No refunds will be given for cancellations fewer than 10 days before an event.

*Current Members Membership dues must be paid for 2018 no later than April 1st to receive the Member rate at the April meeting. If a member chooses not to renew for 2018, they will pay the non-member registration rate for the conference prior to receiving CE Certificates, per IPA finance policy.

**Membership Applicants will pay membership dues once their application is accepted, which may be 30-45 days after application is received by IPA. CE Certificates will not be distributed until dues are paid, per IPA policy. If an applicant is not accepted, or withdraws their application, IPA will invoice the applicant for the difference of non-member rate and the registration rate paid.
